Asolo Art Film Festival

August 30 to September 8, 2013 in Asolo (Treviso)

Asolo hosts the 32nd edition of the Asolo Art Film Festival: the event, as always, invites the talents of cinema and animation to submit their work to compete for the prestigious prizes at the Festival.

The competition is divided into two sections: Films on Art, works dedicated to art in all its forms and works of historical reconstruction and critical interpretation to art; Artist Biographies, for works of historical reconstruction and critical interpretation dedicated to artistic people.

The works will be projected during the course of the Art Film Festival, running from 30 August to 8 September 2013. The Jury will award the following prizes: Grand Prize for the best work in Asolo competition; Premio Asolo for the best films about art; Premio Asolo for the best biography of the artist, Gian Francesco Malipiero Award for best original soundtrack.


Rievocazione storica della Macia

From 14 to 16 August 2013 in Spilimbergo (Pordenone)

 

Spilimbergo hosts the XXII edition of the Historical Re-enactment of Macia, a traditional event which takes its name from the ancient measure of length for cloth, the Macia in fact, in use in Spilimbergo (certified in 1438), a copy of which is engraved on the pillar of the Palace the loggia in the Piazza del Duomo.

The event recreates the atmosphere of the daily life of the city, one of the most important political and cultural in Friuli, in the early sixteenth century. In particular, the event repeats the performance in key events of the city in the period in which they were lords young brothers Roberto and Adriano Spilimbergo.

The arcades will host the workshops with their wares and inns to refresh visitors. In the squares and along the way you will see the common people engaged in spending, the bourgeoisie who treat their business, the nobles and the beggars who walk bothering passers-by for alms.

Leonardo Da Vinci. L’uomo, La Natura, La Scienza

Venice is hosting an exhibition of great interest, focused on the man who probably best embodies all the virtues of human intelligence: Leonardo da Vinci.

The exhibition “Leonardo Da Vinci. Man, Nature, Science, “by the Director of the Cabinet of Drawings of the Venetian Accademia Annalisa Perissa will be open to the public, in the Accademia Gallery, from September 1 to December 1, 2013.

The exhibition is built around the exceptional group of autograph sheets of the master of Vinci, preserved in the Venetian collection since 1822, 25 graphic works, usually never visible to the public, which have been exhibited at galleries all together one last time in 1980 .

Among them stands out the famous study of human proportions, known as the Vitruvian Man, a superb interpenetration between art and science, the result of a synthesis unsurpassed harmonic representation, which has become a symbol of classical perfection of body and mind, human and divine, a microcosm a human scale which is the reflection of the entire cosmos.


Salone del volo

13 to 15 September 2013 in Padua –

Padua is home to the sixth Hall of Flight – Air Festival, from 13 to 15 September 2013 at Civilian Airport of Padova “Gino Allegri”. The exposure of the products and the presentation of the services of the companies listed is integrated into a program of conferences, workshops and exhibitions.

Three days on the forecourt of Allegri will be showcasing the main novelties of sport and recreational aircraft, as well as accessories, technology, components, clothing. Space will also be given to sports associations (parachuting, paragliding) and flight schools.

The Show is also confirmed as a moment of debate on issues related to aviation, thanks to a rational program of conferences and round tables with the participation of leading experts in the sector at national level. The 2013 edition focuses, with stand and ad hoc conferences, training of new professional technical figures from the world of flight.

Further element of showmanship will be given by the many visitors aircrafts that will land at the airport Allegri during the three days of the fair. The event is indeed a brand recognized and appreciated among the more than ten thousand pilots and aircraft owners in Italy and has earned a large number of loyal abroad, including Germany, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia.


Oriente Occidente

Rovereto, Trento province, home to the new edition of “East West”: the festival that was born in 1981 will take place this year from August 29 to September 8.

A great classic turns 70: the International Exhibition of the Venice Film Festival is approaching the seventh decade with the usual baggage of expectations, previews and worldliness.
 
The 70. Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held at the Lido di Venezia from August 28 to September 7, 2013, directed by Alberto Barbera.
 
The Festival wants to promote the knowledge of international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The Show retrospectives and homages to major figures as a contribution to a better knowledge of the history of cinema.
 
Gravity, the new, highly anticipated movie directed by Alfonso Cuarón, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, opens the exhibition.


Nights of Art

July 30 to September 1, 2013 in Padua

Padua is home to “Notturni d’Arte 2013”: a series of initiatives that present to the public the story of the origins of the ancient civilizations of the Venetians.

Tours led by art historians and experts in the area and enlivened by performances and literary readings will lead visitors to the knowledge of ancient Venetians through the discoveries during the centuries from the ground, still prodigal of surprises, and the most significant places of Roman Padua and Early Christian age.
