Golfo dei Poeti Film Festival

From 22 to 24 August 2013 in Lerici (La Spezia)

Lerici hosts “Poets’ Gulf Film Festival”, the International Short Film Competition organized by the Municipality in collaboration with Life Model Agency div. Cinema, Independent Filmmakers addressed to Italian and foreign Associations that have produced short films.

The intent of the “Poets ‘Gulf Film Festival’ is to enhance, promote and disseminate the short film as an art form and language of art by emerging and talented Filmmaker.

The policy of competition is to give greater visibility to the event: for this outdoor screenings take place on location in Rotonda Vassallo Park and Shelley Park, in the beautiful surroundings of the town of Lerici.

The directors of short films that will be present will have the opportunity to discuss their work with the people and with celebrities from the world of cinema.

Festival della Mente

August 30- September 1st in Sarzana (La Spezia)

 

Sarzana hosts the Festival of the Mind, the first festival in Europe dedicated to creativity and creative processes, design and direction of Giulia Cogoli, promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio della Spezia and the City of Sarzana.
 
The history of the festival began in 2004 as a project of deepening and cultural sharing, cultivated and grown steadily until today: the event in the past ten years has proposed 650 meetings, involved a total of 500 speakers and more than 4,000 young volunteers, with a successful public more and more. In nine previous editions has recorded some 300,000 visitors, from 12,000 to 42,000 in the first of 2012.
 
The festival is meant as a crossroads between humanistic and scientific knowledge through intellectual and artistic reflections on the theme of the creative process: between 90 lectures, performances and workshops specially made by some of the most significant thinkers Italians and foreigners.
 
This year the festival is scheduled from August 30 to September 1. Among the guests there will be Guido Rossi, Toni e Peppe Servillo, Alessandro Bergonzoni, Lella Costa, Stefano Bartezzaghi, Massimo Cacciari.

Strigora

August 18, 2013 at Triora (Imperia)

For the past twenty-five years in the province of Imperia Triora has risen to national fame as the “country of Witches” by virtue of documented process to some poor women in the years 1587-1589.

To celebrate fourth anniversary of that tragic event were organized conferences and exhibitions. In 2001 was born, almost by accident, Strigora. The event, from the legendary first edition, has been repeated every year, always renewed and different, but with a single purpose: to re-evaluate the figure of the poor witches.

Already in the early hours of the morning several dozen exhibitors will set up their stalls for the market of medieval, which will start at 10 am. Meanwhile, the witches and wizards of the Pro Triora cook dishes from the magical flavor that you can enjoy both lunch and dinner in the cool “Boschetto” accompanied by folk music.

At three in the afternoon will begin the real party. A festival designed for the whole family, both for large than for small. The country will magically transform, through alleys and streets you will encounter strange characters that will enchant you with their magic and acrobatics.

Wandering through the medieval alleyways, melodies lift you and take you far away dreams. When darkness have obscured the sun will be enchanted by the magic of the Middle Ages.

In the course of the day is possible, even recommended a visit to the ethnographic museum and witchcraft, which contains a special section dedicated to the extensive process of 1587-1589, with an exhibition of tragic documents, including sentences to death some witches.

Agosto Medievale

July 26 to August 11, 2013 Ventimiglia (Imperia) –

Ventimiglia, province of Imperia, hosts to the new edition of ‘”August medieval“, a major event to be held from 26 July to 11 August.

Every year, at the end of July and during the month of August, the history becomes the protagonist and the Medieval City regains atmospheres that seem never forgotten.

Hundreds of people liven up the magnificent historical center, bringing the visitor into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages, with the figures in historical dress, carried out at night, based on a different theme each year.

You can visit taverns, see musicians, fire-eaters and jugglers, the medieval market, but also the typical, with a visit to the monuments of ancient instruments and concerts. The Regatta of goiters Ligurian rewards the citizens of the districts with the first-come Carbaso.

Rapallo Expo

July 31 to August 4, 2013, in Rapallo (Genoa) –

The charming town of Rapallo hosts an interesting summer event: Rapallo Expo 2013 fourteenth edition, from 31 July to 4 August 2013.

In the center of Rapallo are scheduled events crafts, food and wine, promoting tourism, renewable energy, musical and cultural events.

The Expo will take place between Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza Da Vico, and Vico del Pozzo square, Piazza de Gasperi and via Magenta.
