Venice is hosting an exhibition of great interest, focused on the man who probably best embodies all the virtues of human intelligence: Leonardo da Vinci.
The exhibition “Leonardo Da Vinci. Man, Nature, Science, “by the Director of the Cabinet of Drawings of the Venetian Accademia Annalisa Perissa will be open to the public, in the Accademia Gallery, from September 1 to December 1, 2013.
The exhibition is built around the exceptional group of autograph sheets of the master of Vinci, preserved in the Venetian collection since 1822, 25 graphic works, usually never visible to the public, which have been exhibited at galleries all together one last time in 1980 .
Among them stands out the famous study of human proportions, known as the Vitruvian Man, a superb interpenetration between art and science, the result of a synthesis unsurpassed harmonic representation, which has become a symbol of classical perfection of body and mind, human and divine, a microcosm a human scale which is the reflection of the entire cosmos.
